Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil spray for the air fryer basket

Method
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, diced onion, beaten egg, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ½-inch thick. For best results, chill the formed patties in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Place patties in the basket, leaving space between each for air circulation. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to cook in batches.
  • Lightly spray the tops of the patties with olive oil spray. Cook for 6 minutes, then flip the patties, spray lightly with oil again, and cook for another 6 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Remove chicken patties from the air fryer and let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

For extra flavor, add 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped herbs like parsley, basil, or cilantro to the mixture. To make ahead, form patties and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cooking, or freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months. For gluten-free option, substitute gluten-free breadcrumbs. Leftover cooked patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes until warmed through.
