About me

Welcome to My Kitchen!

Hello there, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m Sarah Michelle Henderson, the home cook and air fryer enthusiast behind EverydayAirFryerRecipe.com.

How It All Started

My culinary journey began quite unexpectedly in 2019 when my husband, David, surprised me with an air fryer for our 12th wedding anniversary. At first, I’ll admit, I was skeptical. Another kitchen gadget taking up counter space? But David, being the thoughtful engineer he is, had done his research. He knew I’d been struggling to find time to cook healthy meals for our family while juggling my part-time job as a dental hygienist and raising our three kids.

Meet the Henderson Family

Our household is wonderfully chaotic – we have Emma (14), who’s currently obsessed with volleyball and anything Korean (thanks, K-pop!), Jake (11), our aspiring baseball player who could eat his weight in chicken nuggets, and our youngest, Lily (8), who has the most adventurous palate of us all and isn’t afraid to try anything I put in front of her.

The Pandemic Game-Changer

The turning point came during the early days of the pandemic in 2020. Like many families, we were spending more time at home, and I found myself cooking three meals a day, seven days a week. The air fryer became my saving grace. What started as simple frozen foods quickly evolved into creative experiments. I began documenting my successes (and failures!) on Instagram, sharing photos of our family dinners with friends.

From Instagram to Blog

The response was overwhelming. Friends started asking for recipes, cooking times, and tips. My sister-in-law, Jennifer, who lives in Phoenix, convinced me to start a blog after I successfully air-fried her famous chocolate chip cookies during a video call. “Sarah, you need to share this with the world!” she insisted.

My Cooking Roots

Growing up in small-town Ohio, I learned to cook from my grandmother, Nana Rose, who believed that food was love made visible. She taught me that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious. When I moved to Colorado after marrying David in 2010, I brought those Midwest comfort food values with me, but adapted them for our busy mountain lifestyle.

The Support System

David, who works as a software developer for a local tech company, has been my biggest supporter and chief taste-tester. He’s also the one who handles all the technical aspects of the blog (thank goodness, because I can barely figure out how to update my phone!). The kids have become my unofficial recipe development team – if it doesn’t pass the “Henderson family test,” it doesn’t make it to the blog.

Why Air Fryer Cooking Works for Real Life

What I love most about air fryer cooking is how it fits into real life. I’m not a professional chef, and I don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen. I’m a working mom who needs dinner on the table in 30 minutes or less, preferably with minimal cleanup. The air fryer has revolutionized how we eat – we’re having more vegetables (yes, even Jake eats his Brussels sprouts now!), less oil, and more variety than ever before.

My Mission

My mission with EverydayAirFryerRecipe.com is simple: to help busy families like mine discover that healthy, delicious cooking doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. Every recipe I share has been tested in my own kitchen, usually multiple times, and approved by my toughest critics – my family.

Life Beyond the Kitchen

When I’m not experimenting with new air fryer techniques, you can find me cheering at Emma’s volleyball games, throwing batting practice with Jake in our backyard, or having impromptu dance parties in the kitchen with Lily. We love hiking the Colorado trails on weekends, and yes, I’ve been known to pack air fryer leftovers for our trail lunches!

Thank You for Being Here

Thank you for joining me on this delicious adventure. I hope my recipes bring as much joy to your table as they do to ours.

Happy air frying! Sarah ❤️
